The Creature Court trilogy is now available in the UK & US on the Kindle. This is hugely exciting for me, because it’s very hard for people outside Australia to access books that are only published here – bless the handful of you who utilised carrier pigeons, magic carpets and bricks-and-mortar to get hold of hard copies.
Hopefully HarperCollins will make the books available in other e-formats as well, later in the year. In the meantime, if Kindle is your e-reader of choice, go forth and explore the Creature Court!
Book One – Power and Majesty
Book Two – The Shattered City
Book Three – Reign of Beasts

Power and Majesty has done wonderfully through awards season – I’m overwhelmed with the support that I’ve received for this book!
First there was the Ditmar for Best Novel, which I received at Swancon, in April.
Then I went to the Aurealis Awards in Sydney at the end of May (the day before my birthday!) and was delighted to receive Best Fantasy Novel.
More recently, my marvellous cover artist, Olaf Erla Einarsdottir won the David Gemmell Ravensheart Award for the gorgeous cover of Power and Majesty.
How awesome is that?

The book plates have landed!
These were designed for me by the marvellous and multi-talented Rowena Cory Daniells (whose own trilogy King Rolen’s Kin is due out from Solaris in a month or so) – I like particularly that it reflects the colours and style of my Creature Court website, but of course also the black cat who represents Ashiol, one of Power and Majesty’s many anti-heroes.
If anyone would like a signed book plate to personalise their copy of Power and Majesty, and/or for a friend, or if you have a use for a larger number of bookplates – like if you work for a bookshop – please send me an email at email@example.com, or DM me on Twitter at @tansyrr (apparently you can’t DM me unless I follow you, so email may be best option for most) to let me know how many you need/what names to sign them to if any, and also a postal address.

On the Voyager website they have a slightly more extended sample from the book – fair warning, though, it cuts off with far less regard to a proper stopping place, so might leave readers more frustrated than when they started!
The good news is that for many of you the wait is coming to an end. I’ve had a couple of reports from people who pre-ordered copies of the book that it has come into stock in their mainland-chain-bookstore-of-choice. And of course Hobartians have been able to purchase the book from The Hobart Bookshop since Thursday – but nowhere else! This will all change shortly I hope, though I have signed a lot of stock for Chris & Janet at the Hobart Bookshop, so if you want to pick up a signed copy that’s still a good place to go.
No word yet on which is the best option for overseas readers to order through. Both the Book Depository and Fishpond have listings for Power and Majesty, though neither seem to have actual stock yet. If anyone does successfully order the book from a country other than Australia or New Zealand, let me know how you did it and whether it’s a recommended service!
The launch went very well – booksellers, author, and many of the guests were happy with it! I have blogged about it in more detail here, but in short – it was a fun evening, the children looked gorgeous and so many of my nearest and dearest turned up to launch the book in style. Goodness, am I going to have to do this every six months? (heh, good problem to have, I know)
I expect to have a new CreatureCourtCast up later this week – my voice is still recovering!
